Horizontal agitated thin film dryer (ATFD-H)

Horizontal agitated thin film dryer (ATFD-H) is similar to its vertical counterpart except in a few design considerations, based on suitability of applications. The choice of vertical or horizontal ATFD depends on feed stock, the different volatile components in the feed and the desired form of product. Our ATFD-H can be effectively used for wide range of process fluids including liquids, slurries pastes and wet cakes. ATFD-H designed by FABEX features a cylindrical body and heating jacket. The cylinder is equipped with a rotor which is specifically designed to prevent scale formation on the walls. There is a fixed clearance rotor with screw elements which help in conveying the material from feed side to the product side. The drying process is continuous with single or multi-pass flow which can convert the wet feedstock into dry powder. Our ATFD-H can be used for wide range of operating pressures that includes vacuum, atmospheric pressure and higher pressures.
Principle of Operation: The feed to be dried is continuously carried by the rotor blades towards the heated wall surface and is simultaneously conveyed towards the outlet nozzle. The high heat transfer rates allows efficient cooling/drying of the products in a compact equipment.

Applications
